KOSS Board of Directors
Our board consists of a dedicated volunteer group of professional educators, natural resource managers, and other community members giving their time and talents to the organization. The board members are very active in the schools development and carry out much of the work with operating Klamath Outdoor Science School. Board members are also involved in strategic planning, fundraising, and other outreach activities.
One of the founders of Klamath Outdoor Science School, Marj has been on the board since its inception. She was the Talented and Gifted Program coordinator and teacher for Klamath County School District. Marj holds degrees in both wildlife biology and elementary education and has worked many seasons as a naturalist for the National Park Service. She has had extensive experience with both formal and informal education. She is a former board member of the Oregon Science Teachers Association and conducts professional development workshops for teachers in the areas of science inquiry and gifted education.
A long term resident of Klamath Falls, Jonna graduated from Klamath Union High School. She has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from Southern Oregon State College (now SOU). She and her husband Jerry have two girls. Her farm background and interest in strengthening the rural to urban connections among students make her a strong addition to the KOSS board.
John works for the Oregon Department of Forestry.
Kerry joined the Klamath Outdoor Science School (KOSS) board in 2015. She holds a B.S. and M.S. degrees in wildlife ecology from the University of Idaho. Before volunteering with KOSS, she was an associate conservation scientist with the Wildlife Conservation Society and held various positions with the U.S. Forest Service. She has over 20 years of experience surveying and researching various wildlife species in the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountains to share with KOSS students.
Jacky has been the manager of IFA Nurseries, Inc., Klamath Falls Nursery since 2001. IFA Nurseries, Inc. grows 35 million forestry seedlings annually for private reforestation projects in the Pacific Northwest. Jacky holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science Degree (Honors) & a Diploma in Forestry from the University of Wales, U.K. She is an active volunteer, working with several partners to encourage outdoor activities for children in the Klamath Basin. Through her work, Jacky is familiar with many local contractors & businesses in the Klamath area. Jacky has been a KOSS Board Member since Spring of 2015.
